For months on end, I’ve contemplated bridging both, gospel, and hip-hop genre’s for yet another hiphopbham.com feature post; all before eventually, concluding that the art of music is not subjected to any one genre. Music, and hip-hop in general has embodied all styles.
With that being said, I’ve decided to highlight a young lady who needs no introduction to Birmingham, Alabama. Valerie Trenae Smith, a.k.a, Valerie Smith, sidebar (she’s going to kill me, but I love her name)Birmingham’s Own, Gospel Recording Artist, Valerie Smith is encouraging us all to
Break Free with the debut of her new single.
The song’s inspirational message, is beautifully conveyed by Valerie’s graceful, yet angelic tone. If you’re looking for a powerhouse vocalist who is sure, to annoint you with her praise, Valerie Smith is the name you’d want highlight or bold print, for future reference.
Valerie’s angelic tone has blossomed from early childhood, and nurtured it’s way throughout adulthood. Valerie, who is a distinguished alum, of Wenonah High School, introduced many of us to her voice, at that time when she became one of Wenonah High School’s Crusaders for Christ.
Since then Valerie’s voice has definitely graced us with it’s presence, as she’s been featured on several musical collaborations with noted producers, headlined Birmingham’s Gospel Explosion, and launched a full fledge gospel career.
One of Valerie’s most noted performances, occured months ago when she commanded the stage and opened the Tamela Mann ( Mrs. Take Me To The King)concert. Check out Valerie Smith’s
Break Free right here. Congrat’s again Val. Check out Valerie Smith’s work, and follow her now.
